LEADER OF THE THEOSOPHICAL MOVEMENT THROUGHOUT THE WORLD: SUCCESSOR TO H. P. BLAVATSKY AND W. Q. JUDGE FOUNDRESS (1898) OF THE UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD, AN EXPANSION OF THE ORIGINAL THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY, WHICH BY ACCEPTING THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD BECAME MERGED IN IT. The Secret Doctrine is the accumulated Wisdom of the Ages, and its cosmogony alone is the most stupendous and elaborate system. It is the uninterrupted record covering thousands of generations of Seers whose respective experiences were made to test and to verify the traditions passed orally by one early race to another, of the teachings of higher and exalted beings, who watched over the childhood of Humanity.
The Secret Doctrine was the universally diffused religion of the ancient and prehistoric world. Proofs of its diffusion, authentic records of its history, a complete chain of documents, showing its character and presence in every land, together with the teaching of all its great teachers, exist to this day in the secret crypts of libraries belonging to the Occult Fraternity. H. P. BLAVATSKY
We are now in a transition period, and in the approaching twentieth century there will be a revival of genuine philosophy, and the Secret Doctrine will be the basis of the New Philosophy.' . . .
With the single exception of the writings of Plato, no one in modern times had given to the Western world any approximation to a complete philosophy, previous to the appearance of H. P. Blavatsky's SECRET DOCTRINE. The writings of Plato are carefully veiled in the symbolical language of initiation. THE SECRET DOCTRINE, coming more than two millenniums later, and in an age of so-called Science, iş addressed to the Scientific thought of the age, and hence considers the whole subject largely from the standpoint of Science. . . . WILLIAM Q. JUDGE
THE SECRET DOCTRINE is justly to be regarded as one of the crowning achievements of H. P. Blavatsky's life, and more and more of the best thinkers of today, scientists, deep students of life and nature, are coming to look upon it as the most marvelous work that has appeared in the English language..
If the Student will accept these primary truths of Theosophy (Karma and Reincarnation), and will seek to live according to them, every page and every line of THE SECRET DOCTRINE will have its message for him. But mere book-study will avail little; something more than that is required and demanded of the student of Theosophy; the full understanding of the teachings of all Theosophical works, and pre-eminently of THE SECRET DOCTRINE, is only possible as the life conforms to those teachings. . . . - KATHERINE TINGLEY
